A Beautiful Revolution

I discovered this great blog (thru another fab blog) .. the blogger (a Brit, who went through a depression) blogs his doodles - check it out: abeautifulrevolution.com.

Below are a few which I feel capture what a few of us are going through right now:

Post PM Syndrome

I used to look up to this man .. he was outspoken and not afraid of world powers, he stood up for the weak, he was intelligent and put Malaysia on the map.

He was not perfect of course and has an evil side. One of the bad things he did was a direct hit on my family - we were protected Alhamdulillah, and my father was oh-so-patient and suffered in silence, held up by my mother's unwavering support.

And God is so so Great .. right before our eyes, we are seeing him turn into something what we - kindly - call senile. Some say he's suffering "Post Prime Ministerial Syndrome".

I am only so glad the other party is what I call a gentleman .. some describe his 'niceness' as being weak. But as Nabi Muhammad (SAAS) said, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all."

The other day, my colleague accused me of being a strong supporter of Mr. Nice. I guess I'm just thankful we don't have Bush or Blair as our leader.

Talent, recognised

One of us made the spotlight today. Komar's display at Parkson KLCC appeared in today's Star, page 8 of the Lifestyle section in an article entitled 'Not Your Usual Suspects' - written by my ex-colleague at TV3, Dzireena Mahadzir. And let me tell you this girl is very the posh one. The woman, branded head-to-toe, stylo-mylo to the boot .. and she's got good taste.

So, my darlings .. what does it mean when she praises Komar's display???? Top rating la babes. Well done Komar! U da MAN!

Part of the article:

Not your usual suspects

Everyone knows that good old family department store, Parkson, right? Don’t be too sure. DZIREENA MAHADZIR walked into the new-look Parkson Suria KLCC recently and thought she was in Singapore.

I WAS looking at a Longchamp bag. In a Parkson department store in Kuala Lumpur. And over there are clothes by Laundry and I think those are Seven7 jeans. This is almost surreal?.

For those who don’t know, Longchamp is a much-revered, classic European brand that has, until now, not been available in Malaysia.

Laundry by Shelli Segal is sold in the United States in upmarket stores such as Neiman Marcus (the Harrods of America).

Caption for Komar's display: Wouldn’t this display make you stop and stare? The children’s floor at Parkson Suria KLCC.

P/S The picture does not do the display any justice - not really clear la.

Ipoh mali part III

The journey home - 26th June 2006 - tired but happy Faiz, Komar, Ross, Zul & Zaza

We decided to not go to Naz's barbeque and headed to KL instead. On the way, we dropped by a kopitiam that also had nasi kandar. That story in project-makan.blogspot. We then dropped by Komar's secret spot on the NKVE where we ate our nasi kandar. The guys then decided to take a dip. I was tempted but very the shy one .. the wet look doesn't suit me well. But I did so envy the fun they had splashing about in the cool, cool clear water. On the drive back to KL, we stopped by Tanjung Malim for the infamous pau .. which unfortunately was not as good as I remember it. Misha Omar was also there .. jeng jeng jeng. I couldn't recognise her as she wasn't wearing any make-up .. i.e. plain Jane la jugak minah tu without a full made-up face.

The Ipoh trip started out horrendously, with bits of drama and tension in the middle .. but ended beautifully. It was one of the best trips I've ever had. Thanks guys.

Ipoh mali part II

The hotel - 26th June 2006 - sleepy and tired Faiz, Komar, Zul, Ross & Zaza

The Majestic hotel - all in all, we spent less than 9 hours at the hotel which was very beautiful on the outside, a bit horror in the inside. But worth every cent, I think.

The wedding - 26th June 2006 - handsome Faiz, Komar, Ross & Zul and a very gorgeous Zaza

Needless to say, the pelamin was gorgeous. It was worth all that blood, sweat and tears. The company .. as always .. was great. The food was good. Misha Omar's performance - I must say I am now a fan. The bride and groom - radiant (need I say more, Aiz?).

Ipoh mali part I

The journey to Ipoh - 25th June 2006 - excited Faiz, Komar, Zul, Ross & Zaza

The original plan was to leave around 9am .. but of course, manusia merancang, Allah menentukan .. we ended up leaving at 6.30pm .. which was good in the end coz Ross could follow us instead of taking the train to Ipoh.

The pelamin set-up - 25th & 26th June 2006 - cool Faiz, hyper Komar & Zul, and very tired Ross & Zaza

Anyway ... it rained on the way .. and it continued to rain until after the pelamin was finally set up at 4.30am. I must admit .. and I think the rest could see .. that I was tired and grumpy. I was shooting my mouth off .. and my unfortunate targets were Lokman and Naz. Sorry guys.
